Working at the intersection of warfare, security, and humanitarian response, Steven has developed extensive experience operating in some of the world’s most volatile conflict zones, where leadership, risk assessment, and operational decision-making are critical.
In 2022, he transitioned into frontline media operations as a high-risk security advisor supporting CNN and The New York Times during the war in Ukraine. Operating extensively in the Donbas one of the most heavily contested and dangerous battlefields on earth he enabled journalists to safely report from the frontlines of a conflict that mirrors the scale of World War II but is fought with the technologies of the future, where drones, robotics, and advanced systems dominate the modern battlefield.
Steven responded to the Hamas attack in Israel on October 7, 2023, and later deployed to Gaza in 2025 as the International Security Manager for World Central Kitchen. Working in a extremely dangerous and complex humanitarian environment, he helped coordinate the safe movement of aid through active combat zones, supporting food distribution efforts that reached over one million people per day.
